Oval Pocket Denim

The Oval Denim, aptly named after the signature oval cutouts on both hips, features a 5 pocket construction on each leg. The oval cutout half conceals two welt pockets for increased security, as well as forming two easy access pocket bags in itself. An additional pocket is located on the lower side leg to prioritise convenience and comfortability.

Designed with references to early 19th Century Chinese theatre, the trouser balances a tailored waist with dropped crotch and wide legs to respect the duality of performance and functionality. The final style has then undergone an intricate garment wash to soften the denim and allow for everyday wear to continue the story.

This project has been in development since its conception in 2022. Initially designed while studying at Central Saint Martins, the style has been worn and tested everyday thereafter. Our personal wear has seen the Oval Denim undergo subtle improvements and redesign to accommodate for thorough everyday functionality and comfortability.
